How Long Does Botox Last? A Laguna Niguel Injector Guide
Our Team
11/5/2026
"How long will this last?" is probably the most common question we hear right after someone books their first Botox appointment at Enclave Med Spa in Laguna Niguel. The honest answer is "usually three to four months," but there is more to it than that, and a few things you can do to get the most out of each treatment.
The Typical Timeline
- Days 3 to 5: you start to notice lines softening
- Around day 14: full effect; this is when we check in with first-timers
- Months 2 to 3: results hold steady
- Months 3 to 4: movement gradually returns and lines start to reappear
Botox does not wear off overnight. It fades gradually, so most people book their next visit when they notice movement coming back, before lines fully return.
Why Results Vary From Person to Person
- Dose: too few units often means results fade faster or never fully kick in.
- Muscle strength: stronger muscles, which are common in men and very expressive people, tend to break through sooner.
- Treatment area: some areas hold longer than others.
- Metabolism and activity: very active people and endurance athletes sometimes report shorter results.
- Your history: some patients find results last a little longer after several consistent treatments.
How to Make Botox Last Longer
- Follow aftercare: stay upright for about four hours and skip hard workouts for 24 hours.
- Stay consistent. Letting muscles fully return to full strength between visits can mean starting from scratch each time.
- Wear sunscreen daily. Sun damage deepens lines and works against your results.
- Support your skin with a good routine and skin treatments like DiamondGlow™ facials.
- Ask about dosing. Sometimes a few more units is the difference between six weeks and three months.
Is Dysport Different?
Dysport® and other neuromodulators have similar overall timelines. Some patients notice Dysport kicking in a little sooner. If you feel like one brand wears off quickly for you, trying another is a reasonable conversation to have with your injector.
What If It Wears Off Too Fast?
Tell us. If your results fade much earlier than expected, we will look at dosing, placement and product. That is part of why we like to see first-time patients for a follow-up.
