Botox for Crow's Feet in Laguna Niguel: Softer Lines, Natural Smile

Crow's feet are those little lines that fan out from the corners of your eyes when you smile. They are a sign of a life with plenty of laughing and squinting, which, in sunny South Orange County, most of us do a lot of. If they have started to stick around even when you are not smiling, here is what patients at Enclave Med Spa in Laguna Niguel usually want to know.
What Causes Crow's Feet?
The muscle that circles your eye, the orbicularis oculi, contracts every time you smile, squint or laugh. Thousands of those movements, plus thinner skin and sun exposure over time, gradually create creases. At first they only show when you move. Later they can linger at rest.
How Botox Softens Crow's Feet
BOTOX® Cosmetic is FDA-approved for moderate to severe crow's feet. A few small injections at the outer corner of each eye relax the part of the muscle that causes the creasing. The lines soften, the skin looks smoother, and you can still smile naturally. Done well, nobody sees "Botox." They just think you look rested.
Other neuromodulators, such as Dysport®, are also used in this area. Your injector will talk through which makes the most sense for you.
Will I Still Be Able to Smile?
Yes. This is the biggest worry we hear, and it is a fair one. A skilled injector treats only the outer part of the muscle and keeps doses balanced, so your smile still reaches your eyes. If you want a very soft, subtle result, say so. We can dose conservatively and adjust at your follow-up.
What to Expect
- Treatment time: a few minutes once the consultation is done
- Comfort: quick pinches; most people do not need numbing
- Results: start to appear in a few days, full effect in about two weeks
- Longevity: commonly around three to four months
- Downtime: essentially none, though small bruises are possible
When Crow's Feet Need More Than Botox
If your lines are deep and etched in, or the skin around your eyes is crepey, a neuromodulator alone may only take you part of the way. Skin treatments that improve texture, plus daily sunscreen and good sunglasses, can make a real difference alongside it. We will tell you honestly what to expect.
